Garbage disposal units connect directly to the underside of sink basins and occupy the same position as tailpiece pipes.

Installing drain pipes from a sink to the wall outlet provided is a simple process and can be done by the individual who likes to save money. Since my pipes are abs i m using abs cement i simply swab the inside of the trap adapter with some cement and do the same for the outside of the drain making sure to fully coat both. The sink s p trap will be connected to a drain in a wall by a short horizontal drain pipe. Step 1 place the small bucket under the p trap and remove the clean out plug.

For a new sink installation you ll typically have a piece of pipe sticking out of the wall. If your sink has a garbage disposer you need an additional longer section of drainpipe to connect the disposer s drain line to the bowl drain line. In most double basin sink installations the basins separate tailpieces join before they enter a shared p trap. A double bowl drain kit will have everything the single bowl kit has along with a waste tee connection and additional length of drain line to connect both bowls to a single p trap.
